POLICIES and FAQ

How do I register my child for camp?
You can register on-line, right here on our website.  Our secure and reliable online registration process utilizes the most advanced software programs available. Our system makes it convenient to check your account info, receive information about classes, and pay for your classes. The program also allows you to easily update your contact info (so we know how to contact you in case of a rain out or other change). It’s fast, simple, and user-friendly! Contact us at: 610-647-4600, if you need help with registration or if you have questions.

How many children do you have in each session?

We have a camper to coach maximum ratio of 5:1 (however, most of the time it’s 3 or 4:1).  The class sizes are limited by the courts available (which varies by location).

What other activities are offered besides tennis?
We believe that above all, camp should be fun.  (That’s how kids learn best). Tennis is fun, but it’s even more fun when you add things like, Olympic Games Day, Circus Week, Wild Water Day and everyone’s favorite Crazy 8’s Day.  We build fun themes and activities around learning tennis. When it’s especially hot, we have water activities to cool down.  There are endless possibilities and our creative staff is always coming up with new ideas.

Arrival and Departure?

Campers should arrive by 8:45 on Mondays, for check-in, and be prepared to start promptly by 9:00am every other day. Pick up is also at the courts for both ˝ days AM (promptly at 12pm) and for full day and 1/2 days PM (promptly at 3:30pm).

Do you offer Early Drop-off or extended Day?
Yes, we can accommodate students who need to be dropped off earlier or stay later in the afternoon. This is basically a baby-sitting type service and there is no tennis instruction. The rates are:
8:
00-9:00 - $10/day
3:30-5:30pm - $20/day
Alternatively, you also have the option to schedule private lessons with our Pros at this time, which would be charged at the Pros current lesson rate (varies according to Pro - see below).

Please call 610-647-4600 to make these arrangements.

What happens if I am late picking up my child after the session has ended?

Any child who is picked up more than 15 minutes past the scheduled end of their camp session time will be charged the full Extended Day rate ($20)

Can I drop my child off early?

Children cannot be dropped off before 8:45am, unless arrangements have been made in advance for Early Drop-Off.

What happens if it rains?
In most cases, even when weather is inclement, there will be camp. It is very rare that camp would be cancelled due to rain, as most rain events in the summer are very temporary and courts dry quickly.  We have access to indoor facilities and rainy day activities, appropriate to the different age groups/playing levels, are planned.

If camp is cancelled, it will be posted on our website's home page.  Also, if you provided us with a texting number, please check your cell phone for a text.

What If my child has to miss a day(s) of camp?
There are no reimbursements for missed days of camp.  When advance notice of absence is given, make-ups will be offered in weeks where space is available.  No make-ups for no-shows. No carryovers into the next season.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, most locations offer private lessons.  Lessons can be scheduled before or after camp.  Payment is due at the time of the lesson, by check (made out to :The Tennis Farm).  Alternately, lessons can be paid for on-line, by CC, through your account.  Please schedule with the on-site Camp Directors.

$40/hr with Assistant Pros

$60/hr Camp Directors

Can I stay with my child on the court?

Parents are not permitted on the courts during camp.  In order to have a positive camp experience, it is important that your child take direction from our instructors and work in a group environment.  This can only be achieved if parents are not present on the court.

Parents are welcome to stay, however in order to allow children to fully immerse themselves in tennis camp, and have a much more positive experience, we request that parents stay out of children’s view.

What is 10 & Under Tennis anyway?
10 & Under Tennis (originally called QuickStart Tennis) is a competitive play format that features modified equipment and courts to allow kids to actually "play" the game of tennis.  The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has modified six different variables: age, court size, net height, ball speed and weight, racquet length, and scoring.  Now, kids 10 and under can compete and play like the big kids.

The QuickStart method is not just for training children to compete, it's to TEACH them to play and LOVE the game!  Traditionally, tennis has been a difficult game to learn, especially for younger, smaller kids.  The ball bounces too high, the court is too large to cover, and kids are forced to use bigger rackets to make up for the strength difference.

Now with a smaller court, which can be indoor or outdoor, a slower ball, and appropriate racquets, kids can learn faster than ever before.  Instead of contacting the ball above their heads, they can hit the ball at their waist, allowing for a much better stroke.  Instead of barely getting to wide balls, they can actually get to the ball and control the direction.  This leads to the kids actually using strategy and tactics at a young age.

Children are broken up into age groups, which determine the size of court and equipment that will be used for instruction.  Depending on the age and experience, the balls, racquets and court sizes will vary.
